Brother from another mother

Post Number:#1  Postby sikiguya » Sat Dec 13, 2014 9:25 pm

Okay, just picked up a H&K VP9 a couple of weeks ago. Been busy and have not been to the range. Watching all the YouTube reviews, everyone keeps comparing it to the Walther PPQ. This week,I saw an ad on Facebook from someone looking to trade their PPQ. Long story short...looking to wring these out in a week. Enjoy the photos of thes brothers from another mother.Image

Nice. I picked up a VP9 a month or so ago, and really like it. I can see it taking my Glocks place as my EDC.

I'd like to be able to shoot it side by side with a PPQ.

9mm PPQ (M1) is my EDC. Love how the grips fits in the hand and I can not say enough about the trigger. The short reset will make you prone to double tapping once or twice until you get use to it. :rapid:

Buy new sights asap, the M1 has sights that are just painted on white dots; a nice set of night sights will really help you.

Shorty's sells a Cleveland Hoster for the PPQ M1, he may have one for the M2 as well.

I wish I would have waited and got the LE model. An extra mag an night sights would be nice to have.

I did order an appendix IWB holster from Advanced Holster. It's a damn nice rig for $45.

I waited....for $60...nightsights and an extra mag was worth the wait. You are welcome to shoot it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under that impression that the VP9 was more of a "full-size" pistol, where as the Walther PPQ was somewhat "compact."

They're more or less the same size.

The PPQ is a bit shorter on the slide by about half inch or so than the VP9. Like a Glock 19 to a 17.
I have to say, the trigger on the PPQ is outstanding. Gonna keep both. But I would be lying if I said a 5 inch PPQ isn't on my want list for 2015.

I carry my VP9 in an appendix IWB holster everyday. It's comfortable and conceals just fine for being a larger pistol. Like with any gun, having a good holster and belt is key.
