The Wisconsin proposal would create a three-tiered system for carrying hidden weapons. The current concealed weapon permit, which requires users to go through training on how to use a firearm, would remain and would be an option for people who need it to carry their weapons into certain other states.

A new basic permit would be created that does not require any firearm training, but that could be used to carry a concealed weapon onto school grounds in Wisconsin that don't prohibit it. Both licenses would cost the same — $40 — which includes $10 for a background check.

Question: Anybody know what this means?

We can always hope. Walker didn't like constitutional carry when we were first looking at our license. Wonder if he would support it now.
I was pessimistic we could get CC in the first place. I'll not try to predict this.
Consideration of limiting the power of the state, in favor of individual liberty, should be at the core of every law.

The writer is struggling to provide any real information (along with his spin). Any accurate details will only be a matter of luck.

I liked the "hidden" gun reference. Ooooo. Dark and scary!

If you want it.. call your State Senator and Assemblyman and tell them to support / sponsor it.

Please google WI Legislature LRB 2039/1. You will get several hits. For those of us living in Racine and Kenosha counties we should ask ourselves why Sen. Wanngaard, who claims to be pro gun owners, is not a co-sponsor of this bill. The answer is that he is no friend of gun owners and does everything he can to block the exercise of our constitutional rights under the 2nd amendment. Give him a call and ask him why he hides, the truth from his constituents!

This is a link to find the text of bills in the legislature: http://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2017/related/proposals

There are no bills like LRB 2039/1 in the list of bills.

Any legislature savvy people out there who can tell us how to find what is actually in the bill?

Link: http://legis.wisconsin.gov/assembly/60/brooks/right-to-carry-petition

This link is to the legislature web site and has a petition to sign in favor of the bill if you live in Robert Brook's district (I assume) and also the text of the bill.
