Aldi - no longer prohibiting weapons!

Victory from Aldi!

Reference: Concern #204814

Dear Mr. nighthawk:

Thank you for your email.

ALDI follows the laws of each state in which we operate, including all states' concealed carry laws. In regards to posting signs in stores, ALDI follows the laws of each state in which we operate, and we do not post signs prohibiting weapons in our stores in states that allow concealed carry. This, however, is a recent change as we previously prohibited weapons in all stores.

Sincerely,

Sarah Ackermann
Oak Creek Division Operations Department

This was in response to my email at least asking them to change the signs and to ban dangerous ordnance instead of "ordinance!"

I have not been to my local Aldi yet to confirm their posting is remove, but I'll update this. I plan on printing the email to show the manager if the store is indeed posted.

Aldi's being no longer posted was noted and discussed in late July in Tomah and Mount Pleasant. However, getting a offical response helps to confirm that this change came from corporate and is not up to the local manager to decide whether or not to post.

Thanks for posting the email from corporate.

Nice job!
Consideration of limiting the power of the state, in favor of individual liberty, should be at the core of every law.

I spoke to the manager at ALDI's last week and thanked him for removing the sign.
He said several foplks had made that comment also.

I stopped in to the Aldi on Watts Rd. in west Madison and confirmed they are no longer posted! I didn't get a chance to chat with the manager, but I did chat with the cashier and mentioned my gratitude that the sign was down.

Here's a picture with no posting :)

Gammon RD make me sad to think of Rusk Gun Shop being gone.
Did they move or someone open a new shop in the ares.
I always stopped by when in the area.
